Rolando Sanz's work bridging production, performance, and education has made him a performing arts visionary with rare perspective and a reputation as an unflappable leader.
He executive-produced the world premiere of Andrew Lippa's I Am Anne Hutchinson / I Am Harvey Milk, starring Kristin Chenoweth. Additional producing credits include Songs for a New World starring Jason Robert Brown, Children of Eden with Stephen Schwartz, The Circle of Life, hosted by Sir Tim Rice and starring Adam Pascal, and operatic/Broadway mash-ups like West Side Story + Roméo et Juliette and Madama Butterfly + Miss Saigon. His production of The Songs of Tim Rice, which aired on PBS Maryland Public Television, was nominated for three Emmy Awards, winning for Lighting Designer/Director.
Sanz sings leading tenor roles at companies including Spoleto Festival USA, Florentine Opera, and Pacific Symphony, and recently joined the roster of the Metropolitan Opera.
A lifelong Marylander, Sanz co-founded Young Artists of America, now the mid-Atlantic's premiere training organization for collaborative musicians.
